New Trick… First one of the season!

The weather haven’t been with us the last couple of days, but we have made the best of it…

The park haven’t been open for 2 days now, but we have been building some rail-setups and some jumps the camp kids could hike – it’s been cold, but it has been fun… it seems like most of the kids are really really psyked on the trip, and we have a good atmosphere going.

Even though the park was closed again today, we sneaked in at around noon and got the kids going on the hip-jump.  The landing was soft and pretty much everyone hucked backflips, most them ended up sticking them aswell! It was fun and there were smiles on everyones faces..!

I went on a egotrip today – almost didn’t coach anyone after our lunchbreak…

The up-box inrun was shaped and there was plenty of snow in the landing, so I decided I wanted to learn something new - and I did…

Rodeo/Misty 630 out… Stuck it on the 4th try I think, getting really close on all the first attempts aswell, but the soft landing made it a bit hard to ride away.

No footage today due to the lack of propper wireless internet, so you are just gonna have to trust me… Hopefully I’ll get some shots of it during my stay here.

I’m out…

New Trick… Unnaty cork 7

So I have been in Val Thorens for 2 days now, and so far its waaay better then the last time i was here.

The weather is good and the park is pretty sweet aswell – I’m just really amped on riding an other park then the one I’m used to riding, which might be the main reason why I like the park here so much. The Val T park has alot of potential, but the big jump line needs some quite serious adjustments before its really good… the rails are fun though.

Since the jump line wasn’t working out too well for anybody, after a while we decided to only hit the last jump which was the best and the most safe jump.

Jeg started working on my corks (since they are more inconsistend then going out and picking up chicks…) and it felt like they are getting better…  for the 37th time.

Today (on day 2) I  pretty much only hit the last kicker all day long…

I started out doing corks again, and I stuck em every single time so I started getting pumped on doing it unnatural – its been on my “wanting to do list” since august…

I did a unnaty 360 I hadn’t done that trick in like 2 months, then a unnaty 5, which ended up being corked – stoked, haha. Then unnaty cork 7, which I slammed pretty hard… I tok a step back and did a couple more unnaty cork 5′s just to get comfortable with the take off and rotation. Then I went for the 7 again, and stomped it 6-7 times in a row… so hyped on that trick because when it comes to skiing, corks are the mother of all bitches! (I have been doing them for 4 seasons, and still I don’t have any of them as safe tricks)

I’m filming a little bit here and there so hopefully I’ll have a little edit one of these days… and I keep forgetting to take pictures, so this post is all text and boring – I know…

Happy easter.

New Trick… Cab 9

I haven’t exactly stomped this trick yet, and I didn’t grab it, but I tried it 4 times got around 3 times and landed it clean 2 times! I’m pretty stoked about this one, since its one of those nasty slopestyle tricks!

Now I need to start hitting bigger kickers with cab spins so I can get a solid grab in there… hopefully I’ll have this one ready next week when the big show goes off!

CAB IS SPINNING “SWITCH UNNATURAL” (for everyone who didn’t know)…

Other then that; I’m having trouble with my “slopestyle” tricks (sw 10, rodeo 9). Last week I pretty much landed them every single time, but now they are giving me a hard time… hopefulle I’ll get those dialed tomorrow.

and yeah, still no decent shots to show yet so bare with me…

New trick… Rodeo 9

It’s been a long and tough day…

The Sun is beginning to hit the park most of the day, which helps alot on pushing the riding.

Today was the first day in 2 weeks without wind, so i decided step my game up a little bit, and go for the tricks I want to do in Laax in a couple of weeks…

I did both my cab 7 (switch unnatural 7) and switch 10, but the grabs aren’t solid enough yet, so I’ll have to work on those. then I went for the rodeo 9 I’ve been planning on learning. I stomped it first try, and got a solid mute on the second try… pretty stoked on learning a whole new trick I haven’t done before, instead of just the usual relearn.!

I’ll try and get some footage of my “comp” tricks one of these days…

Have a good evening

Picture of the week

I was out night skiing a couple of days ago, and while skiing the small park I met some friends who were out taking some pictures…
I hit the jump a few times and did the most photogenic trick I know – the Rodeo 5…

The big one

Lets take it back a little bit… When I landed in Oslo yesterday my skis obviously came out last so that my 10 minute margin to make the bus from Oslo og Hemsedal went straight out the window… So i had to hang out in the city for a few hours which was actually really nice since traveling takes so much energy out of you when you are sick..!

Lots of snow in oslo...

Lots of snow in oslo...

I really wanna go back to Oslo as soon as possible and get some rails on film, but I’ll have to wait and see about that.

Today i woke up (thank god) to pretty much the same weather I have woken up to for the last 2 weeks or so… Grey skies and a bit of fresh snow. But this time there was no wind, and I was back “home” in Hemsedal!

I went straight up to the hill and met up with some friends right away… It’s so nice to be back because you can just go out, and there is always someone good you can ride with so you get right into doing tricks you wouldn’t do right away if you were by your self. They almost have the park all done now so it’s super good (forgot to take pictures, sorry. I really need to get into blogging mode), and with the new snow the landings were pretty soft. Such a good day to come back and just get to know the park again!..

On to the big update…

I gave myself a deadline to have this blog ready mid-December to be able to keep people up to date during my winter season this year, but of course that didn’t happen! I spend way too much time trying to figure out how I wanted to do it and how I wanted it to look… as you can see i finally settled with a design, and even thought i haven’t made it myself as I wanted to I have to say I’m pretty stoked on it – and I hope you are too..!

If you were wondering why i write in English its pretty simple. I was born and raised Greenland, I’ve lived in Denmark for a few years, and now i live in Norway – so to be able to keep everyone up to date English was the way to go. Plus English sounds so much cooler then any of the Scandinavian languages, so I thought writing in English would make me sound all cool and stuff…

I spend the last month or so in France. I did some small danish comps and got a few shots in the bag.

The trip was alright… I’m having a hard time staying positive about it even thought i had a lot of fun… It started out in Avoriaz where the annual Danish Championships are held. I went down there 1 week early to get some used to the jumps and what knot, but the park wasn’t even open. Luckily it dumped 1 meter of snow the day i got there so we went out and build a BC booter on day 2 and got to hit it the day after. It was pretty much my first real day in the back country and it was really fun, but a lot of work! here’s an edit RAD films made from the day we hit the jump…

I couldn’t figure how to embed it, so here is the link.

If you like the song (I can’t get enough of it) check out Ou Est Le Swimming pool… they are awesome!

After almost 2 weeks in Avori-ass i went over to Val Thorens with my sister and Greenlandic super shredder Michael Damgaard.

Val Thorens was a disaster… We were there for 2 weeks and the weather was horrible for 13 days! the only really good day we had there was the last one – but that day was so good we almost forgot all the bad ones, almost.

The last week there was Frostgun week. We build a huge jump for the Frostgun Invitational, but because of the weather I only hit it a few time with some straight airs and the big air comp was canceled – it sucked big time! Mads and Troels sacked up and did some spins, but is was super gnarly!

here’s an edit from the last day in Val T

so yeah, that was the last trip i was on, and now that the blog is up and running be sure to look out for more updates real soon.
