Sharing

So… its friday, 5 days of work is behind me and only one more day is left until I can kick back and appreciate my one day long weekend. Awesome.

As you can probably imagine this week hasn´t had much to offer. however, I will say that I have finally pulled my ass together enough to go buy a new charger for my videocamera. I even brought the (fully charged) camera with me when I went to Drammen to jump trampolines, but I wasn´t feeling “it” that day, so I never got it out – I will next time though!

I spend a lot of time on the internet (just like everybody else?) and I believe that ones use of the internet obviously says a lot about ones interests, but I will go as far as to say that your use of the interweb says a lot about who you are.

So after this really mediocre week with not too much going on and absolutely nothing interesting personal things happening, I will share some links with you guys so you can get a better idea of what I´m all about, without getting too far into my head.

These are some of the sites I always check out – in no particular order:

http://hypebeast.com/Attracting a vast and diverse readership from around the globe and boasting 9 million page views per month, Hypebeast is the premier destination for street culture information on the web.”

http://hypem.com/“Every day, thousands of people around the world write about music they love — and it all ends up here.”

http://www.karmaloop.com/“The world leader in streetwear culture and clothing.”

http://www.newschoolers.com/“The worlds biggest online community for Free Skiing enthuthiasts.”

http://riders.dk/ - “Like Newschoolers, but for the danes.”

http://theberrics.com/“Inside Steve Berra and Eric Kostons skatepark. We dont report the news, we are the news.”

http://www.computerarts.co.uk/ - “Tons of tutorials and stuff to learn.”

I often check out Art (fag) blogs and media bookmarking sites:

http://www.booooooom.com/, http://dropular.net/, http://www.notcot.org/, http://www.changethethought.com/, http://www.todayandtomorrow.net/, http://www.buamai.com/, http://thefwa.com/, http://www.colourlovers.com/, http://thepostfamily.com/, http://kitsunenoir.com/, http://ffffound.com/, http://streetpeeper.com/.

One last thing I want to share is this one site… When I saw this site I instantly knew I wanted to share it on the blog. I think this is one of those really good concepts which could potentially change the world..!

I never thought I would like the design of a label which creates medical products, but this is absolutely awesome!

Check out: Help I need help – and especially check the “bored?” section of the site.

I also went thru my vimeo subscription, which I never do, and I found some really cool stuff… I will share that tomorrow.

How about THAT for content sharing? DAMN!

Just so you know, I never wanted my blog to about “random cool stuff” because there are SOO many of those blogs out there, but its kinda hard not to share things from the internet when I spend so much time cruising around on here and check stuff out. (I love anything that looks cool!)… This is the post to compensate for all the times I wanted to post something “cool” on here that really doesnt have anything to do with me.

I cant wait till my season kicks in so I can start sharing my own activities and work on my ego, wohoo!

Have an awesome weekend.

good edit

The Windells Shredcast; EP1; Johnnie Paxson from Windells on Vimeo.

This is one of the best park edits I have seen in a while… I can´t wait till the skiing community crows a little bit older so we get to see more quality edits and stuff (instead of all the gansta and afterbang BS), like all the good things that are coming out of the snowboarders!

There, I said it. Snowboarding is still “cooler” then skiing…

New Trick… First one of the season!

The weather haven’t been with us the last couple of days, but we have made the best of it…

The park haven’t been open for 2 days now, but we have been building some rail-setups and some jumps the camp kids could hike – it’s been cold, but it has been fun… it seems like most of the kids are really really psyked on the trip, and we have a good atmosphere going.

Even though the park was closed again today, we sneaked in at around noon and got the kids going on the hip-jump.  The landing was soft and pretty much everyone hucked backflips, most them ended up sticking them aswell! It was fun and there were smiles on everyones faces..!

I went on a egotrip today – almost didn’t coach anyone after our lunchbreak…

The up-box inrun was shaped and there was plenty of snow in the landing, so I decided I wanted to learn something new - and I did…

Rodeo/Misty 630 out… Stuck it on the 4th try I think, getting really close on all the first attempts aswell, but the soft landing made it a bit hard to ride away.

No footage today due to the lack of propper wireless internet, so you are just gonna have to trust me… Hopefully I’ll get some shots of it during my stay here.

I’m out…

Nothing

Not too much going on these days…

All I do is work, sit on front of my computer, eat, sleep and work out…

I feel like im pretty much done with skataboarding for this year. Its been good and I have skatet more this sommer then I have in a long long time, but now I think its getting too cold. Plus I wanna focus my days more on working out and getting strong for the season, cus I have been slacking a little bit on that. my “Season” starts on thursday – I´m so psyched on that, all I do is think about new tricks I want to learn! And with skiing (hopefully) comes more posts on here.

Anyhoes, check Theotis Beasley. After watching this video he became my new idol… If we all were like this guy, the world would definitely be a better place . Think about that, hehe

holy…

If you know skateboarding you will see how crazy this is…

If you on the other hand don´t know too much about skateboarding, this probably won´t make any impression on you… at all.

oh, the beauty of Game of Skate.

In context of how much football I have been watching over the course of the this weekend  (3-4 games – and I don´t even like watching it) and the fact that he is german, let me put it like this. If Dennis Buzenits was a football player, he would have been the best defender the world had ever seen!

I´ll post a weekend update later today… if I don´t change my mind and decide not to.

Music Memories

I´m starting up a “new series” of posts – and I´m calling it Music Mondays. Ironically  enough I´m starting it today, on a wednesday, but whatever…

I got this idea straight out of The Post Family, but it fits in really well with one of my big interest – music – and the fact that I lack of things to write about, especially in the offseason.

First I´d like to say something that is really relevant to this post, and that´s why I love the timing of my birth and the places I´ve lived.

I love the fact that I was born in the middle of the 80´s (1986) because I grew up without internet and too much electronics – but started using it at around age 13, early enough for it to be a natural part of my life now. I had video games avaliable to me at around age 7, had an active childhood where I did sports every single day, and I started going to the mountain by myself at an really early age around age 7-8 if I´m not totally mistaking? Greenland is probably the reason why i was able to do this.

I feel like ALOT has happened and changed the way people live their lifes over the past couple of years, and I feel my age made it really easy to cope with it all. Do you remember how your cell-phone looked 5 years ago, or which cell-phone was your first? I do, and also remember what things were like before people got cell-phones. Kids 5 years younger then me probably don´t..? And I really appreciate knowing both sides of the ecuation.

I also remember my first CD and ghettoblaster. I got it for christmas. The CD was Ace of Base – Happy Nation and the blaster was a black sony with Radio, 1 CD player and 2 cassette players. I´m guessing kids now a days wont remember their first mp3 files, computer or cell-phone by the time they hit 20.

Another thing I love about growing up when I did was the cartoons my generation watched. I believe (correct me if I´m wrong) we grew up with more cartoon classics then any other generation before and after us, and this FINALLY brings me right into what I really wanted to share before en started babeling about my childhood…

Here are a few Disney movie songs I fell over to start things off – they are genius! The texts impress me alot now that I actually understand them!..

This is an ode to good music, good cartoons (which adults can actually watch) and everyone how grew up with these movies, and all the other great Disney Cartoons of the late 80´s and early 90´s.
